More specifically, the company is trusted to protect the data of 80% of the Fortune 1000 companies being one of the biggest players in the field. Besides, in 2019 the company grew over 30%, making it one of the fastest growing security companies.
PLANS FOR THE MIDDLE EAST
Acronis will be launching in the UAE market its latest Business-to-Business cyber protection products – the Acronis Cyber Cloud solution, a platform that enables service providers to deliver cyber protection in an easy, efficient and secure way and Acronis Backup, a solution that delivers advanced cyber protection that’s packaged and priced for small infrastructures.
With the volume and sophistication of ransomware attacks rising steadily over the past few years, ransomware become one of the most pervasive and expensive online criminal threats in history. Hence, the quick detection and termination of a ransomware attack is crucial. The faster the threat is shut down; the less time it has to destroy files by encrypting them. Restoring any ransomware-encrypted files is a useful technique, but its effectiveness depends on how frequently you perform backups.
Almost half of UAE organizations surveyed (over 1500 business and technology executives) for the International Trends in Cybersecurity Report have suffered a cybersecurity breach in the past year. But if you look at it from a global perspective, UAE ranks low in global cybersecurity breaches. But it definitely can do much better.
Malware attacks in the UAE have increased by 12% in the first three months of 2019.
The UAE is one of the most digital-savvy countries in the Middle East – a position that makes it more vulnerable to cyber-attacks due to its high digital consumer.
In 2018 alone, a total of 248 cyber-attacks targeted government departments and private companies.
However, the majority of hacking attacks don’t start with software exploitation, but with social engineering like fraudulent email distribution or driving users to malicious sites. Human attackers also have a very high operational tempo with the potential to exploit internal systems in less than 30 minutes. This requires security teams not only to be technologically competent but also to be able to respond quickly. Displaying why awareness on those tactics and training of all employees is key.
In both the public and private sector, it’s crucial to vet your cloud providers to understand their anti-malware tech infrastructure, procedures and policies, and negotiate provisions into your provider contracts and SLAs to ensure they share the pain of any lapses they suffer that affect you. But the threat of supply-chain attacks (malware incursions that originate from otherwise trusted vendors and service providers) is growing, which means you should follow the above steps within your own house as well.
