Dubai introduces new rules for money transfer vehicles

Dubai Police have announced new safety features to be added to vehicles transferring money in the emirate, in order to protect them against theft and other kinds of crimes, Gulf News has reported. The modifications will cover some 400 security vehicles used for money transfer in Dubai, said head of protection of private security companies at Dubai Police, Lt Khalid Abdul Rahman Al Hammadi. The 10 security changes that will apply to new vehicles include a remote control linked with the operations room in the company, while access to the vehicle will be through electronic fingerprint. The most important change is that the vehicle will not be unlocked by the driver when it reaches its destination but by the company's operations room, said Al Hammadi.
