Dubai seeks planes for budget airline

Dubai's Civil Aviation Authority is in talks with Airbus and Boeing about buying planes for the budget airline that Emirates is proposing to set up, said Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, president of the authority and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Group. Airbus Middle East President Habib Fekih said the new airline may acquire between 50 and 70 aircraft in the next five years. The budget carrier is expected to start operations within one year, reported Gulf News.
