Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism) recently hosted a familiarisation trip for 50 members of Japan’s Mice and leisure travel trade.
The aim of the trip, which took place from 5-10 October 2015, was to showcase Dubai’s destination offering and introduce attendees to key Dubai stakeholders.
The carefully curated itinerary included visits to iconic attractions such as The Dubai Mall, the Burj Khalifa, Atlantis, The Palm and Madinat Jumeirah.
The schedule also included a special presentation given by the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding, as well as a desert safari, seaplane tour and dinner cruise on Dubai Creek.
Dubai Tourism’s investment in the Japanese market reflects the importance of Japan as a source of inbound tourism for Dubai, and is part of a wider tourism strategy that encompasses Asia as a whole.
In November 2015, the Department is set to host another familiarisation trip that will bring 500 members of China’s travel trade to Dubai.
