Dubai World Central signs three new strategic partnerships

Additional 1,300 rooms to Cater to Business and Leisure Travelers around Al Maktoum International Airport and Expo2020.

Dubai World Central (DWC) has announced the signing of separate agreements that will see the development of three international hotels – Aloft, Studio M and Millennium – at DWC.

The agreements were signed with Radar DWC LLC (Aloft), Tetra Hospitality Investment LLC (Studio M) and ABA Hospitality DWC LLC (Millennium). The hotels are scheduled for completion between 2018 and 2019 and will collectively add 1,300 rooms to DWC’s hospitality offering.

Mohammed Al Awadhi, Vice President – Real Estate, Dubai World Central, said: “We anticipate considerable demand for hotel accommodation not only from passenger flows at the Al Maktoum International Airport and the Expo2020,but also from the business travelers associated with the wider DWC community. We are also looking at a diverse offering focusing on the mid-range segment. More specifically, over 50 per cent of the hotel accommodation around the airport at DWC will be in the three-star segment.”

Al Maktoum International Airport is expected to have capacity to handle 120 million passengers annually in 5-8 years. According to standard calculation metrics, this would create a demand for about 20,000 rooms.

Awadhi added: “This feeds into our wider vision to develop a robust hospitality offering that supports Dubai’s ambition to become a global tourism hub and welcome 20 million tourists into the emirate by 2020. Our focus is to provide our partners the necessary infrastructure and facilities that guarantee connectivity and ease of access. I am confident that we are about to witness a very exciting growth trajectory.”

Aloft Dubai World Central will feature 150 loft-like rooms and over 1,000 square feet in meeting space. The hotel will also include a grab-and-go gourmet area RE:FUEL, a trendy lobby lounge RE:MIX, a state-of-the-art fitness facility RE:CHARGE and an all-day dining restaurant.

With750 rooms, the three-star budget Studio M Dubai World Central will offer a chic, minimalist design, contemporary functionality and fuss free technology to address the needs of the modern day corporate traveller.

The Millennium Dubai World Centralwill feature400 rooms and specifically caters to the upper-midscale and upscale corporate traveller, with premier meeting rooms and business facilities.

The agreements follow Dubai World Central’s recent announcement of an agreement with Abjar Hotels International for a new 450-room Holiday Inn Dubai World Central and 250-room Staybridge Suites Dubai World Central. Both hotels are expected to be completed together by the first quarter of 2018.
