Egypt predicts 23% more tourists in 2012

Egypt's tourism minister Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour has said the country expects to receive more than 12 million tourists by the end of 2012, up 23% over the previous year, Reuters has reported. Egypt received 5,242,652 tourists during the first six months of 2012, a 27% rise on the same period of 2011, he said, adding there was a significant rise in tourist arrivals from Russia, Poland and Germany in particular. "I expect that Egypt will be able, without much effort, to receive more than 12 million tourists by the end of the year," Abdel Nour said.
