Egypt’s gas sufficiency will be achieved by increasing exploration, production rate

“Country’s non-renewable fortunes must be exploited to create investment opportunities”

Egypt’s self-sufficiency for gas will only be achieved by increasing exploration, reserves and production rates, said Mohammed Shoaib, engineer, oil expert and managing director of Citadel Group’s energy department.

He adds that Egypt’s self-sufficiency for gas can be achieved also by creating a mixture of energy that respects economies and depends on renewable energy sources such as solar, wind and others, in addition to using the appropriate fuel for each industry, whether economically or environmentally.

Engineer Mohammad Shoaib told Youm7 newspaper that the country’s non-renewable fortunes must be exploited to create investment opportunities. He added that value-added industries are working to create jobs and to benefit the Egyptian economy by raising the efficiency of the generating equipment at power stations.

He said that raising efficiency and introducing good rationalisation plans will slash power consumption.
