Etisalat offers final chance to register under My Number My Identity Campaign

Etisalat announced a last chance for mobile SIM card registration for customers who have not yet done so under the ‘My Number, My Identity’ campaign.

Major Point of Sales across the UAE will remain open from 4pm to 10pm on Friday, March 14, 2014, to facilitate mobile number registration for Etisalat customers. On other days, registration may be done within normal working hours. Besides Point of Sales or outlets, customers can update their information at the 40 locations of Etisalat partners including OnTime, Leader, Fixit, Enjazat, Wathiq, Al Mustanad business men services and Al Saqer business men service center (the list of Etisalat POS and partners is available on Customers who fail to register their mobile lines will face disconnection from 17 March, 2014.

Mandated by the UAE Telecom Regulatory Authority in July 2012, registration of mobile lines will ultimately protect subscribers from misuse or confidentiality infringement. The easy and quick registration policy requires mobile subscribers to provide valid and original identification documents at any Etisalat kiosk across the country along with a copy of the ID proof. Documents include Emirates ID or passport for UAE nationals, passport or GCC National ID for GCC nationals, and the Emirates ID or passport along with valid residence visa for all other nationalities. Business and government customers must present a valid establishment card issued by the UAE Ministry of Interior.

For online registration, subscribers can initiate the process on and complete the process at Etisalat’s Point of Sales. Customers can also approach Etisalat point of sales or partner branches, listed on the company website, to register or update their personal information. Customers can enquire about the registration status on the toll free number (800121) which is available in four languages: Arabic, English, Urdu and Malayalam or by dialling *171#.

Registration of mobile numbers is a crucial step towards preventing the global threat of identity theft and misuse. We have extended all necessary support to the TRA by introducing new channels for registration and adding new partners to ease the process for customers.

“Only a small percentage of our customers are yet to comply with the mandatory requirement. Hence, we decided to extend our work hours to offer a last chance to customers to register.”
