GM Egypt launches world premiere all new Chevrolet Optra in Egypt

The all new Chevrolet Optra made its world premiere and first public appearance at General Motors Egypt Plant- 6th of October city; through an expanded press conference to launch the new Chevrolet Optra in the Egyptian markets.

New Optra built off the durable (Optra J200) GM architecture, has a fully updated interior and exterior design for more elegance and comfort.

The new 1500 cc Chevrolet Optra is positioned as a four – doors family sedan with a stylish interior and exterior design, precision engineering, responsive handling and advanced safety features.

The new Optra will be launched for the first time to the public at Automech- Formula Motor show in Cairo.

Today, Al Mansour and GME are fully prepared to launch the new Optra, guaranteeing a country-wide sales and service distribution network with strong availability of spare parts at reasonable prices. A number of intensive training programs have been also conducted to the technicians to make sure they are updated with the advanced engineering and mechanism of the vehicle consequently offering the customers with the best sales and after sales services. An expanded network comprising 95 showrooms and service centers is in place; being the widest and most comprehensive network covering all governorates nationwide. A number of financing offers have been provided through unique partnerships between Mansour Program and Banks to suit the different economic backgrounds of the customers. The successful launch of the new Optra came to continue the success story of GME and Al Mansour Automotive being the biggest and sole agent for GME vehicles.

The new Chevrolet Optra has been designed in GM global factories meeting or exceeding all General Motors standards and quality specifications. The Chevrolet Optra has a strong heritage as the medium car segment leader selling about 50,000 vehicles in Egypt since 2005.

The New Optra, equipped with efficient 1500cc variable valve timing, four cylinder powertrain, boasts enhanced fuel economy of 7.3 L/100 KM. Engine horsepower is 110/5800 rpm with maximum torque of 146 newton meters. The engine offers six speed automatic transmission. The Gear box operates 100,000Km before having to change the transmission oil.

New Optra comes with an enhanced suspension for Egypt market. Anti-Lock Brake System is standard achieving good deceleration power on different road surfaces. This, in addition to the Electronic Brake Force Distribution system (EBD), and Front airbags to protect driver and the passengers. An additional part of the Optra safety story is structural high strength steel body reinforcements including front and rear steel impact beams and side impact beams with high strength.

New Optra provides the driver a luxurious interior experience, with a quiet interior cabin leveraging noise insulating / sound dampening materials in the body. The car has been equipped with Rear Parking sensors, Headlamp levelling adjustment, Tinted Front and Rear glass to reduce sunlight and increasing efficiency of air conditioner, Air purification system with an anti-dust filter, 6 speaker, Radio / MP3 / CD player / USB / AUX.

GM intends to launch the new Optra in a number of North Africa country as part of the company’s expansion plan.
