GM posts 19% sales growth across GCC

General Motors has reported 19% growth in its sales across GCC for the first half of this year. The US automaker attributed the rise in its GCC sales across all three GM brands to growing demand for its rejuvenated line-up of passenger cars and crossovers. Chevrolet increased sales by 21%; GMC witnessed a 16% uplift, while GM's luxury brand Cadillac experienced 24% growth, the company said. Sales of passenger cars in the GCC grew by 17% during the first six months of 2012. GM's newest models - Chevrolet Spark, Sonic, Cruze and Malibu - doubled sales over the same period, the carmaker noted.
