Gulf Air to resume flights to Shiraz

Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, announced that it will be recommencing flights to Shiraz. Becoming the airline’s 40th destination, the capital of Fars Province in Iran, will be served with 3 weekly flights, starting from 15 December 2014.

Gulf Air Acting Chief Executive Officer Mr. Maher Salman Al Musallam commented on the airline’s latest development: “We are further strengthening and supplementing our Iran operations after the recent resumption of flights to both Mashhad (December 2013) and Tehran (March 2014). Gulf Air’s Shiraz flights, with our attractive schedule and short flight times, will cater to the strong passenger demand we have seen in the market – and so we hope that this, our 40th route, will appeal to travellers and be a success.”

Gulf Air’s 3 weekly Shiraz operations will provide strong two way connectivity for travellers flying to and from various destinations within the Gulf Air network while catering to strong local traffic demand. As one of the Middle East’s largest network carriers, Gulf Air is well-positioned to connect Iran to several key Middle Eastern, European and Asian destinations with excellent connectivity through its efficient hub in Bahrain.

Shiraz will become the airline’s third Iranian destination supplementing existing operations to Tehran and Mashhad. Gulf Air will be operating one of the airline’s Airbus A320 aircraft on this short-haul route.
