Iraq buys new planes

Iraq's transport ministry has announced the signing of a deal with Germany's Bionk to buy 15 civilian aircraft to be received in Iraq by 2013, AK news has reported. In 2008, the Iraqi government placed a $5.5bn order with Boeing for 40 new 737 and 787 Dreamliner aircraft, with purchase rights for an additional 15 aircraft to be delivered during 2013. The Iraqi government also signed a contract with Bombardier to buy 10 aircraft CRJ900 medium-sized planes with the right to buy 10 other aircraft in the future.
