Iraqi Airways assets frozen in Jordan

A Jordanian court has ordered at least $1.5 million in cash and assets belonging to Iraq's national airline in the kingdom to be frozen in a legal dispute with Kuwait, the Associated Press has reported. The legal action is a first step by Kuwait Airways to claim at least $130m in cash and assets the airline reported in the country as recently as last year. Chris Gooding, a lawyer for Kuwait Airways said Kuwait is pursuing similar legal action in 15 counties where Iraqi Airways does business and is prepared to shut down flights if they are not repaid.
