ITWORX, the global software professional services organization headquartered in Egypt, extended mentorship and advice throughout the IEEEXtreme 9.0 programming competition that took place worldwide on October 24th.
As a solid endorser of the software industry in Egypt, ITWORX has hosted 30 Egyptian participating students at its headquarters and assigned a group of its own professionals to provide tutorship and guidance.
With over 5,000 participating students, IEEEXtreme is one of the largest global virtual challenges in the world bringing together thousands of students from around the globe into an exceptional 24-hour event where contestants compete to solve a set of programming problems. IEEEXtreme is open to all undergraduate and graduate college students who are interested in becoming student members in IEEE, the world’s largest professional association for the advancement of technology.
ITWORX gathered participants from a number of Egyptian universities including,Benha University, British University in Egypt, Helwan University, Modern Academy for Engineering and Technology, South Valley University – Qena, Tanta University, andZagazig University. The challenge supported by ITWORX mentors showed successful outcomes as three of the Egyptian students have made it to the list of best 100 worldwide by the end of the competition.
Commenting on the initiative, Hafez Hamdy, ITWORX’s CEO, said: “We’revery pleased to have hostedsuch a group of young Egyptian talents competing in this highly regarded global competition, and we’re proud of the exceptional results a number of our students have achieved”.

In line with its commitment towards the development of young students, ITWORX has recently launched an engaging internship program where interns were able to learn and work as full time employees. The internship program was part of ‘ITWORX Productive Summer 2015’ with a focus on developing productive interns who used their theoretical background in creating an effective input to the company.
