Jeddah to have dry port to solve JIP congestion

The National Committee for Transport at the Council of Saudi Chambers has said a dry port away from the city centre will be established to solve congestion issues at the Jeddah Islamic Port, Arab News has reported. "The dry port will speed up the process of getting the goods out of the port, help carry out procedures more quickly and ease the burden on carriers transporting the goods to warehouses," said deputy chairman of the committee, Saeed Al-Bassami. The system will enable visitors with a GCC visit visa to entering all GCC countries. Furthermore, it is connected with the blacklists which contain names and fingerprints of persons banned from entry to each and every member country.
