Actress Jennifer Aniston has signed an agreement to promote Emirates Airline in an upcoming worldwide ad campaign.
The 46-year-old Hollywood A-lister is set to appear across global print and television campaign ads to promote the Dubai-based airline.
“We can confirm that we are working with Ms Jennifer Aniston on a global digital and television campaign,” Boutros Boutros, divisional senior vice-president of corporate communications, marketing and brand at Emirates Airline and Group, told Gulf News.
Aniston was chosen to be the face of the airline for her fame and success, as well as being funny and relatable. According to the New York Post, the campaign has already been shot, generating $5 million for Aniston. Emirates Airlines has refused to comment about the endorsement deal.
“Emirates need a face – a big star – to show to the world and Aniston is very appropriate. People love her and scientists have actually proved that,” said Anil Kumar, creative director of Dubai-based advertising agency, Watermelon.
Aniston will not be the first Hollywood actor to promote an airline from the Gulf this year. In March, Abu Dhabi–based Etihad Airways, the UAE’s second-largest airline, announced Nicole Kidman as its new brand ambassador, with the Australian actress appearing in a series of advertising campaigns.
