Jordan TRC says Xpress Telecom lawsuit to proceed

Jordan's Telecoms Regulatory Commission (TRC) has said the government is to proceed with a lawsuit against XPress Telecoms until its outstanding debts are paid, Jordan Times has reported. XPress, which stopped providing services in 2011 due to financial difficulties, announced earlier this year that it was about to conclude a deal with an investor to resume operations. "XPress has not paid the government anything yet," said TRC chief commissioner Mohammad Taani. The government has seized Xpress' assets in the country, but the company still owes the government about JD6.1m, he added.
