Muscat Electricity Distribution Company (MEDC) – part of Nama Group – has held their third instalment of its yearly workshop ‘Shuraka’a’ last Thursday.
The workshop was held at the Shangri-la Bar Al Jassa, with the presence of contractors, investor and manufacturers for electrical supplies who work with MEDC on a regular basis.
The workshop aims to share ideas and dialogue to create a positive working atmosphere and enhance the efficiency of the projects and activities of the company.
“This is the third event on this workshop, where MEDC has invited the contractors, investors and manufacturers that work with us to hear the ideas and issues that they face. We do this in order to improve the relationship as well as the efficiency of the projects and ultimately contribute positively to the public interest,” stated Ala’a Hassan Moosa Al Lawati, Senior Manager of Project Delivery.
Mr. Al Lawati stated: that “The workshop started with discussions regarding different aspect of health and safety in the different electrical projects, then followed with project implementation and management and later discussing new technologies in the electricity sector and Omanisation, and finally ending with the shared experiences in project management.”
MEDC has also utilized this workshop to update the concerned parties on the current and future projects in order to enhance the power network in the Muscat district and to keep up with the growing population trends.
MEDC also utilized this workshop to give the ‘Outstanding Project’ award to the contractors who have performed an outstanding caliber of work while keeping the highest standards of health, safety and environment.
