Middle East Telecommunications Company (METCO) attended the Zain Technology Conference, which was hosted by Zain Group from November 30 to December 2, 2015 at the Bahrain Rotana Amwaj hotel.
The annual conference, which was held under the theme Transforming Our World, gave METCO a platform to promote services in the field of telecommunications, and celebrate its recent achievements for different clients including Zain Operations and Standard Chartered Bank. It was also an opportunity for METCO to address the latest trends in the sector.
The conference, which was attended by more than 700 delegates from across the MENA region, is one of the biggest technology conferences in the region. Its programme included two very insightful and eye-opening sessions by two of METCO’s key partners, Accedian and Avaya.
Accedian is actively working to meet the demand for mobility, broadband, virtualisation, cloud-based services and enhanced customer experience. This was the key message in a session, titled Instrumentation of the Access Network for 4G/5G Services, which discussed the need to significantly increase the visibility of networks. Accedian, the end-to-end network performance experts for mobile networks and enterprise-to-data center connectivity, led an enlightening session about its efforts to evolve the multi-service access infrastructure in 4G, and subsequently 5G. It highlighted the need for strategic insight into network behavior and instant information, and called for an enhanced level of instrumentation to provide real time information.
Avaya focused on its goal to provide integrated solutions that are efficient, productive, and innovative. In an informative session titled Driving Better Team Engagement Through Collaboration Technologies, the global provider of solutions for customer and team engagement highlighted the need for improved communications within the Zain enterprise. It promoted its technology stack, which can embed communications within core business procedures to drive improved team engagement that results in best in class service to customers, as well as greater operational efficiencies.
METCO has been delivering leading edge solutions to Zain Operations for more than 25 years, and supplying wireless, optical and IP technologies to countries including Kuwait, Iraq, KSA and Sudan. It has been attending the conference since its launch in 2009, and the event has become firm fixture on the company’s calendar.
