The newest addition to Microsoft’s Surface products, the Surface 3 (4G LTE), which – as of last weekend – is being released around the world, will hit the UAE markets in September of this year according to Alpha Data, the official resellers of Surface in the country.
“The only indication Microsoft has given regarding the price for this tablet is that it is $100 more than the Surface 3 . However, how much the UAE price will differ from the US price we cannot say for certain at the moment,” says Ram Arya, a spokesperson at Alpha Data.
In a Microsoft Surface blog-post, Brian Hall, the general manager at Microsoft Surface, says, “Surface 3 is the thinnest and lightest Surface ever built. It goes from being a tablet to a laptop to a docked desktop without missing a beat.”
He adds, “The addition of mobile broadband capability will make it uniquely capable among tablets to help you get more done wherever you are.”
This tablet creates more opportunities for the Surface 3 customers, allowing them to stay connected through mobile broadband roaming services. It is light and thin, making it easy to carry, weighing 1.37 lbs with a 10.8 inch screen. It has full HD display, a 1920 x 1280 resolution and has a longer lasting battery which can last up to ten hours.
Two configurations are provided for the Surface 3 (4G LTE): 64 GB and 128 GB. Both come with 4GB of RAM and will run on Windows 8.1 Professional.
When Windows 10 is released on July 29, Surface customers will have an added advantage of upgrading their device for free.
