The Egyptian Tourism Activation Authority revealed that the number of Arab visitors to Egypt increased by 17.7 per cent by the end of April 2015, reports Egypt-based Amwal Al Ghad.
This confirms the continued positive growth in tourist numbers to the country.
The number of Arab tourists visiting various tourist destinations in Egypt accounted for 20.9 per cent of the total tourist arrivals during the first four months of 2015, compared with 15 per cent during the same period in 2014.
The Authority revealed that the number of Saudi tourists, during the first four months of 2015, increased by 69.9 per cent compared with the same period last year.
The UAE has achieved a significant increase of 49.8 per cent in the number of visitor arrivals to Egypt during the current year, while the number of tourists from Kuwait increased by 37.1 per cent.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Tourism has this year launched a campaign, “Egypt is Close”, which aims at attracting Arab tourists.
