The number of tourist arrivals to Lebanon increased by 41.90 per cent during July 2015 to 208,681 tourists compared with 147,064 tourists in June, statistics show.
Lebanon Ministry of Tourism’s statistics reveals that the number of tourists also increased by 29.44 p er cent on annual basis compared to 161,222 tourists in July 2014, reports Lebanon-based Assafir.
On a cumulative level, the number of tourists rose by 17.90 per cent YoY to 880,079 during the first seven months of this year, compared with 746,456 tourists during the same period of the previous year.
European tourists topped the list of arrivals to Lebanon, accounting for 33.55 per cent of the total arrivals during July with 295,310 tourists, followed by the Arabs accounting for 30.82 per cent, then the tourists from the American continent accounting for 18.29 per cent.
Also, tourists from Iraq constituted 11.5 per cent of total visitors in the first seven months of 2015, followed by visitors from United States with 9.4 per cent, France with 8.9 per cent, Canada with 6.4 per cent, Jordan with 5.1 per cent and Egypt and Germany with 4.9 per cent each.
