Oman to retender Sohar, Ras al Hadd airport terminal packages

Oman's transport and communications ministry, which is overseeing the multi-billion dollar modernisation of the country's airports and aviation sector, has re-launched the tenders for green-field airport projects at Sohar and Ras Al Hadd, Oman Daily Observer has reported. The move follows a review by the ministry of the terminal building packages, which led to an overhaul of the design of the terminal buildings at the airports. As part of the package, the successful bidder will also build a 38-metre high Air Control Tower (ATC), as well as other facilities at Sohar and Ras Al Hadd. A 25,000-tonne capacity Air Cargo Terminal is also envisioned at Sohar.
