Porsche is set to showcase its performance credentials and the ultimate in sporty design across the Gulf, with the brand unveiling its plans for the regional #GTSunleashed Roadshow.
The series of events will kick off at Yas Mall in Abu Dhabi this weekend (17th -18th December 2015) and includes an experience module which will be displayed in public areas, showcasing select models of the GTS range and feature interactive areas.
Through innovative design, comprehensive information as well as entertainment features the GTS Roadshow will offer the general public a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with select offerings from the GTS range. The interactive display will travel between December till March to seven locations across all GCC countries. Visitors will be able to book test drives, while a variety of creative and digital activities will ensure high excitement levels for fans of every age.
The event will showcase the story of the distinctive range which has continued to grow in popularity, especially in the Middle East. The revered initials stand for ‘Gran Turismo Sport’, and offer car owners purebred sports cars that are sporty, passionate and exclusive.
Continuing Porsche’s legacy of bringing technology developed on the track into road-legal sports cars, GTS models are built in equal measure for the circuit as they are for a sporty tour on a winding mountain pass or everyday use. Today, the range is more diverse than ever with a total of ten model versions available for order – ranging from the two-door to four-door sports cars – across six model series.
Commenting ahead of the #GTSunleashed Roadshow’s first weekend of activation, Deesch Papke, Chief Executive Officer of Porsche Middle East and Africa FZE, said: “The GTS is formidable technology in motion, combining style and tradition with performance and innovation. Across seven cities in the region, our GTS Roadshow will showcase the best of our brand, giving everyone the opportunity to interact with and enjoy the Porsche experience. Our activation has been shaped to ensure excitement for all ages and we expect each event to be a memorable occasion for the entire family.”
At each of the locations, Porsche will showcase how the GTS models combine exceptional engine power with precise handling for a true sports car experience. The GTS engines boast more power, more torque reserves and even shorter acceleration times. The adaptive Porsche Active Suspension Management System (PASM), which comes as standard in all GTS models, lowers the ride height by 10-24mm dependent on the model, for even better traction, while larger brakes provide first-class deceleration values. Coupled with the Sport Chrono Package, further boosting acceleration is available across all GTS models, identifying them as authentic sports cars.
Alongside undeniable performance credentials, the GTS models through their distinctive styling also exude sports car flair. Exteriors are distinguished by an independent front apron with a sporty design and a sport exhaust system which gives the GTS a unique and evocative sound. All around the car, the colour black provides a striking contrast to the GTS signal colours ‘Carmine Red’ and ‘Rhodium Silver’. Tailpipes, trim strips, painted wheels and the model badge at the rear are all adorned in black.
Inside the model’s styling and comfort take precedence, with sport seats, SportDesign steering wheel and gear lever trimmed in Alcantara. Further distinctive features include GTS badges emblazoned across the car from the headrest to the instrument cluster and within the infotainment system.
With the recent announcement of the Macan GTS, the GTS range features ten versions available for order, across six model series, for the first time ever. These models represent Porsche’s sportiest and most dynamic vehicles and are the ultimate exemplification of the brand’s unrivalled racetrack lineage matched with iconic styling.
