Qatar Airways wins major accolade at Onboard Hospitality Awards in Hamburg

Five-star airline awarded for its designer Missoni sleeper suits which offer passengers luxurious and exclusive on-board hospitality

Qatar Airways emerged victorious at a recently held award night in Hamburg for offering excellence in delivering a premium five-star on-board product to its passengers.

The Onboard Hospitality Awards awarded the five-star airline’s Missoni sleeper suits as the best in ‘Textiles’ category, chosen through an online vote and judged by an independent panel of industry experts against set criteria.

Qatar Airways won the coveted award ahead of other leading global airlines at a lavish ceremony held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Hamburg, in the presence of guests from across the global travel, tourism and hospitality industries.

Receiving the award, Qatar Airways Senior Vice President Customer Experience, Rossen Dimitrov said: “Qatar Airways is honoured to receive this recognition from esteemed industry experts. The award is a testament to the high standards of luxury, comfort and excellence that Qatar Airways offers to its passengers. Over the years, the airline has revolutionised air travel with the most lavish five-star indulgence in the sky.”

Qatar Airways is the first and only international carrier to offer products by Missoni. The Italian fashion house has designed stylish and luxurious sleeper suits paired with Missoni slippers to guarantee sophistication, exclusive comfort and the ultimate in relaxation for its passengers. Qatar Airways’ Missoni sleeper suits were the only entry into the Onboard Hospitality Awards that offered a separate set of products for male and female passengers.

Qatar Airways has won multiple awards recently including being named “World’s Most Dependable Airline” in a comprehensive study published by CBS MoneyWatch and WanderBat. The airline has also been recognised as “World’s Best Business Class” and “Best Middle Eastern Airline” in 2014 by Skytrax, as well as “World’s Best Airline” in 2011 and 2012.

Qatar Airways has seen rapid growth in just 18 years of operation, to the point where today it is flying a modern fleet of 156 aircraft to 146 key business and leisure destinations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, North America and South America.
