Qatar to complete Al Ruwais port expansion by 2013-end

Qatar's Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced that the expansion and development works of the nearly QR1bn Al Ruwais Port project is to be completed by the end of this year, the Peninsula has reported. The project, worth QR936.8m ($257m), is to be executed in three phases; development of Al Ruwais Port (phase 2), marine facilities for fishing harbour, and miscellaneous facilities like warehouses, mosques, rest areas and a cafeteria. The port, which will feature container berth, general cargo berth, dry and cold stores, control tower and inspection platform, will cater to the daily needs of fishermen and other users.
