HE Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), has attended a training workshop held by RTA in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi University. The workshop, which was held under the theme: Leading without a Title, hosted the renowned international human development expert Robin Sharma.
The workshop was held in the context of RTA’s strategy aimed at enhancing the competency of leaders, and picking up skills & attributes that assist leaders improve their corporate performance to the highest standards of excellence & creativity. The event was held at Madinat Jumeirah and attended by scores of CEOs, Directors and various leaders of RTA.
“The workshop was part of a series of a distinctive array of training courses RTA is keen to hold regularly in a bid to uplift skills, competence and effective leadership attributes of RTA employees in general, and administrative leaders in particular. It is believed that such a drive will in turn pave the way for employees to adopt the highest global practices & standards,” said Ms. Kawther Kazim, Executive Director of Human Resources & Development, RTA. “These workshops are in line with the direction of the senior leadership of the UAE advocating improvement initiatives focused on innovation & creativity, especially as Dubai is taking a leading role in adopting the best global standards. This warrants all RTA’s agencies as well as public entities of the UAE to leverage the performance & productivity of their teams through improving leadership,” she continued.
“Through this workshop, we were keen to attract one of the most prominent leadership & human development training experts worldwide, Robin Sharma who has written 15 books about leadership highlighted by his outstanding book “Lead without a Title.” During the workshop, Sharma focused on charting out the key principles of sound leadership, and how to push up performance to the highest levels, especially under the continuous daily businesses. The workshop also spotlighted how individuals can display leadership skills & attributes regardless of their status, job nature or titles held within the organization. The workshop touched on eight core interactive points designed to attain the optimal improvement in personal & professional skills.
“RTA recognizes that leadership basics have to be polished through training & conditioning, which can only be achieved by holding high-class and distinctive training workshop nationwide. Such workshops would contribute to grooming individuals for leadership whatever different their jobs & titles are within the organization,” added Kazim.
