Oman’s Salalah Free Zone Co (SFC) has launched a new phase of infrastructure development to meet an upsurge in international investor interest in its Adhan site, located to the north of Salalah Port, Oman Daily Observer has reported. In Phase 1, around 229 hectares are proposed to be developed during the 2013-2018 timeframe, followed by another 119 hectares during 2018 – 2023. Phase 3 will see the addition of 141 hectares during 2023 – 2028, followed by another 163 hectares during 2028 – 2033. Funding for the upcoming round of infrastructure development will come from an allocation of around OR51m made by the government in 2010, SFC said.
