Saudi Railway expands cargo fleet

The Saudi Railway Organisation (SRO) has announced the addition of 10 new SD 70 ACS series shipping trailers to its fleet, Arab News has reported. The new trailers are part of a plan to meet a 50% increase in demand for shipping services between King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam and Riyadh, compared to the last five years, said SRO president, Mohammed Al-Suwaiket. "These new trailers will increase the current size of our fleet to 51," said Al-Suwaiket. "These will help us to raise the efficiency and improve the quality of performance and production rates through attractive marketing plans."
