Saudia to privatise more units in 2014

Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) has said that it is on track to privatise four of its major units including Prince Sultan Aviation Academy and Saudia Private Airline, Arab News has reported. The two other units earmarked for privatisation in 2014 include medical services, which include a 400-bed hospital, and Saudi Airlines Real Estate Development Co, said the airline’s vice president for public relations, Abdullah Al-Ajhar. “This year will witness the privatization of about 70 to 80% of our strategic units,” said Al-Ajhar. The carrier has already privatised five units including catering, cargo, ground services and Saudia Aerospace Engineering Industries.
