An AMEinfo exclusive
“If today you visit government or semi-government offices in Saudi, you will see service robots,” Zaid Al Mashari, Group CEO of Proven Arabia told AMEinfo in an exclusive interview following the company’s unveiling of Next-generation Pudu robots in Saudi late this October.
Proven Robotics, a state-of-the-art venture by Proven Solution, and Pudu Robotics, an international high-tech enterprise that designs and sells commercial service robots, launched Pudu’s signature robots: KettyBot, BellaBot, PuduBot and Puductor 2.
KettyBot revolutionizes human-robot interaction, helping make manual tasks in customer-service industries obsolete; while BellaBot and PuduBot are service delivery robots that can act as utility assistants in several sectors.
“When you talk about KettyBot, BellaBot, and PuduBot, they are fairly new in the market but fast making a name for service robots in the hospitality and healthcare sector,” Al Mashari explained.
“This is our third robotics partnership, and our focus for the future will be around service robots in various industries. We evaluate each robot type, the value that we could bring to our customers, and work on building a bigger portfolio of solutions.”
Through its close partnership with Pudu Robotics, Proven Robotics aims to offer fully scalable robotic automation solutions for customers in a wide range of industries and several customer-facing sectors.
“There is an increasing demand for robotics driven by the growing need for automation and contactless interactions,” Al Mashari said.
Who is Proven Robotics?
Proven Robotics is present in 5 countries: the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Belarus, Kuwait, and India.
This startup is dedicated to designing custom-made robotics software solutions and delivering robotics for its clients in healthcare, travel, and hospitality, banking and financial services, retail, education, and government and public services.
Pudu Robotics is an international high-tech enterprise dedicated to the design, R&D, production and sales of commercial service robots.
“We work in the service robotics industry, i.e. system-based autonomous interfaces that interact, communicate and deliver services to business clients,” Al Mashari explained.
“We specialize in creating immersive experiences using robotics solutions, and delivering efficient customer engagement via robots, a technology sector that’s in high demand, with a promising future.”
At your service robots
The business of incorporating service robots in corporate or government offices, to engage with customers and work as support aids hand-in-hand with employees, has become the norm. These robots replace monotonous, repetitive administrative undertakings such as ones performed by a receptionist at a hotel. Automating these tasks allows employees to focus on more practical and productive endeavors.
Adoption of this model is becoming more popular in Saudi, according to Al Mashari.
“You will start seeing service robots in everyday work and life in the coming 5 years. Hospitality, banking, retail, and travel are adopting the technology for its high efficiency in dealing with recurring tasks,” Al Mashari indicated.
Technavio has been monitoring the robotics market in the Middle East and is estimated to grow by $385.74 million from 2021 to 2025, at almost a 5% yearly growth during the forecast period.
Innovation-driven and future mega-city NEOM is looking to adopt high technology solutions, including AI and robotics, helping accelerate this market’s growth and adoption.
“We consider NEOM as not only a customer but also a strategic partner because the leaders behind it are driving innovation in the market aligned with our aims as a company. We are proud to be a NEOM approved robotics supplier,” Al Mashari announced.
More than just suppliers
Proven Robotics is not only a robotics solutions provider. It takes business support to the future by offering high-end products and cutting-edge technologies including AI, Robotics, Blockchain, AR/VR, and IoT.
“We’re a software and hardware company. We design end-to-end robotics solutions using our own PRoMS (Proven Robotics Management System) and custom robotics applications. Our management system can enable the end-user to create and build apps or presentations on top of the software, thereby customizing their needs,” Al Mashari shared.
“Our aim is to build that ecosystem for Saudi, our current focus, and provide help in terms of financing. To accomplish this, we partnered with local financing institutions aiming to support SMEs and help them adopt such innovative products.”
Being a new technology, Proven Robotics is currently creating market awareness and building a holistic ecosystem that takes a comprehensive approach to ownership in terms of financing, insurance, warranty, and a dedicated support system via a service center.
“Our global partnerships with top robotics firms allow us to offer our clients an environment of trust and expertise. We train our people, and offer a fully comprehensive service center and dedicated after-sales support as part of our customer-centered focus,” Al Mashari said.
“The cost of our robots is competitive, especially if you consider the financial support and financing terms that we can provide. We also offer service and maintenance support with a 2-3 years warranty,” Al Mashari noted.
But what’s intriguing in this business is that the robot, which could carry a steep price tag, may not be the biggest ticket item.
“Proven Robotics specializes in robotics software development, however companies can build their own robotics management system for their robots, or we can help them with a custom-built solution. Our solutions can easily integrate with companies’ CRM, or HR systems. The software, depending on the complexity, can be where most of the costs lie. For simple tasks like robots welcoming guests, it doesn’t cost that much, but for delivery bots, it’s more complicated.”
“The technology is less about replacing people and more about supplementing and supporting certain functions. Robotics is a sector that brings more value to businesses and allows their teams to focus on high-value tasks. When it comes to saving time and money, with robotics, it’s automatic,”Al Mashari concluded.
