Seychelles Tourism Office Middle East, in partnership with 7’South, a DMC company based in Seychelles participated at the Riyadh Travel Show from 14th -17th April 2015 at the Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh.
Riyadh Travel Show, now on its 7th year, is the biggest travel and tourism exhibition in Saudi Arabia.
This year showed that it was the largest gathering since it started with a 20% increase in the number of exhibitors compared to 2014. In addition to this, expected number of attendees rose from 13,678 from 2014 to 20,000 this year.
The increasing number of Saudi nationals travelling year after year depicts the significance of events like this as the consumers are given the opportunity to mingle with different hotels, airline companies, tourism boards and tour operators in the region and in turn entice them to travel.
STOME had a very successful run in the recently concluded Riyadh Travel Show as more than 300 consumers visited the stand in the first two days of the event and it progressed as the days went by. The outcome is very pleasing as a huge number of consumers got interested with Seychelles and what the Island offers.
The Riyadh Travel Show was a perfect avenue for Seychelles to demonstrate how diverse the Island is and it’s a perfect fit as the summer season is fast approaching. It showed how the Island can be a good escape from the summer heat.
RTS 2015 opened the doors for the consumers from Riyadh, KSA to experience Seychelles even for a number of days, an opportunity for them to see in a glance what to expect once they decide to go and visit the Island. It is also a fitting option for consumers as their holiday destination after they observe RAMADAN.
The travel show was inaugurated by engineer Kaled M Al Otaibi, secretary general of the council of Saudi Chambers. In totality the event went very well, it gave STOME a chance to showcase the Island and the beautiful paradise within it. The good turnout of attendees and their interest with Seychelles inspired us more to join travel events like this. We will definitely join the Riyadh Travel Show next year, Ahmed Fathallah, Regional Manager, and Seychelles Tourism Office Middle East.
