Total number of tourists to Jordan slumps 9.7 per cent during ten months

Revenues generated by the tourism sector declined to JOD2.473 billion by the end of October 2015

The total number of tourists to Jordan dropped by 9.7 per cent in the first ten months of 2015, compared with the same period in 2014, according Jordan Tourism Board.

The total number of tourists to Jordan until the end of October this year reached 4.136 million tourists, compared with 4.608m tourists during the same period last year, reports Albawabh News.

According to the statistics, the number of overnight tourists and tourists coming to Jordan during the first ten months of this year dropped by six per cent to 3.246m compared with 3.453m tourists during the same period last year.

The number of one-day tourists who came to the Kingdom in the first ten months of 2015 witnessed a decline of 20.7 per cent to 916,463 tourists compared to 1.155m tourists during the same period last year.

Revenues generated by the tourism sector declined to JOD2.473 billion by the end of October 2015 compared with JOD2.473bn during the same period last year, according to figures from the Jordan Tourism Board.
