UAE: gasoline price down 8 per cent and diesel 18 per cent for September

Drop in prices came in line with the decline of crude oil prices in global markets

The UAE Ministry of Energy announced the list of fuel sales for September 2015. It included the decline in local gasoline by 8.5 per cent to AED1.96, UAE based Al Arabiya reports.

According to the Ministry of Energy’s numbers, the fuel prices list included reducing the price of a litre of local diesel by 18 per cent to AED1.86 in September.

In August 2015, the ministry applied the Council of Ministers’ decision to lift fuel subsidies in the UAE in a move to boost the economy’s competitiveness and raise the efficiency of energy consumption.

This drop in gasoline and diesel prices came in line with the decline of crude oil prices in global markets.

The commission identified the gasoline and diesel sale prices in the UAE stations during a meeting held at the Ministry of Energy in Abu Dhabi headed by Matar Al Nyadi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy.

The selling prices identified for diesel are estimated at AED1.86 per litre, gasoline Super Octane 98 AED2.07 per litre, gasoline special 95 AED1.96 per litre and gasoline E-plus Octane 91 AED1.89 per litre.
