UAE to set new guidelines for car dealers

The UAE ministry of economy is set to issue new guidelines aimed at protecting consumer rights and unifying the activities of various car dealers, distributors and agencies in the country, Emirates 24-7 has reported. The ministry will test a unified and binding car contract for six months beginning March, to be finally implemented in September. According to the proposed contract, dealers must provide spare parts for five years from the date of signing the maintenance contract and offer validity of those spare parts for six months from the date of carrying out maintenance.
