Traffic penalties will stiffen in the UAE beginning March 1, reported Khaleej Times. The Ministry of Interior will start enforcing Federal Law No.12 of 2007, which consists of the amended articles of Federal Traffic Law No. 21 of 1995. Colonel Ghaith Al Za'abi, Director of the Traffic Department, said a range of violations will face greater penalties. For example, any person found manufacturing or using a fake number plate will risk imprisonment or fine of Dhs20,000 ($5,450) or more.
