VIDEO: Dubai’s Apple store to be bigger than London’s and New York’s?

The tech giant’s first Middle East retail outlet will open on October 29 in the Emirate

Mall of the Emirates and Yas Mall will welcome the region’s first Apple store on October 29.

Although the size of the store has not been officially revealed, Apple news and rumours website Apple Insider speculates that the Mall of the Emirates branch “is expected to be about 50,000 square feet in total (4,645 square metres).”

If this is true, it will officially be the largest Apple store in the world.

According to the site, Apple stores are usually 8,400sq ft (approximately 780sq m) per store, but this number continues to be surpassed.

The American tech giant’s biggest outlets are its Covent Garden store in London (30,000sq ft or 2,787sq m), its New York Grand Central Terminal venue (20,000sq ft or 1,858sq m) and the Shanghai Pudong district store (16,000sq ft or 1,486sq m).

Many expected the latest Apple store to be revealed at the opening Mall of the Emirates’ new $1 billion wing, Evolution 2015, on September 28, but Apple’s most recent statement has revealed that the store will open at the end of this month.

The Apple store will be located on the top floor of the mall and will offer customers numerous amenities including a genius bar, workshop areas and personal set-up sessions.

The American tech giant’s most recent release was the iPhone 6S, which officially landed on UAE shelves on October 10.
