Infiniti has taken part in the Dubai International Motor Show 2017. Here is what Infiniti has to offer in the years to come.
Jurgen Schmitz, Infiniti’s Middle East Managing Director presents the new QX80 saying it has a new modern design and a spacious cabin which is much appreciated by the company’s customers.
“We have also upgraded the rear entertainment system. It also a range of proactive safety assistance technology which will help customers and drivers to drive more safely,” he said.
Schmitz said women will be allowed to drive in Saudi Arabia starting June next year and Infiniti is looking forward to catering to this new segment of customers.
“It is not a secret that in these days women are a deciding factor when it comes to a car purchase in Saudi Arabia. When they actually drive we will offer the same brand promise for our new female customers,” he saiad.
Schmitz said that Infiniti was capable of selling 5200 units from January 2017 to October 2017 and he expects a further positive trend for Infiniti in the GCC and the Middle East.
“In terms of absolute numbers, it cannot be better because the overall economic situation is challenging meaning the overall automotive market is decreasing and it is affecting all the brands. We are looking forward to increase our sales further,” he said.
“We believe the market next year will not be significantly different than this year,” he added.
Schmitz also spoke about autonomous cars saying that Infiniti currently has cars with semi autonomous drive functions. “Our Q50, which was launched in 2013, already had at that point in time a unique system which is the direct adaptive steering system providing customers with semi autonomous drive functions,” he said.
He added that the autonomous trend is unstoppable and Infiniti will be part of this trend.
