Zain Iraq’s market share dips

The Iraqi subsidiary of Kuwait's Zain has said it has a 53% share of the country's mobile subscribers, down slightly from 55% at the end of last year, as rivals Asiacell and Korek Telecom increase the competitive pressure, Reuters has reported. The firm expects mobile phone penetration in Iraq to reach 100% by 2015, said Zain Iraq's chief executive, Emad Makayi.
