Abu Dhabi’s non-oil merchandise trade grew to Dhs13.5bn in March

According to figures by the Statistics Centre-Abu Dhabi (SCAD), the emirate's non-oil trade grew 24.2% year-on-year in March, due to higher imports of machinery and transport equipment as construction of oil and gas projects take momentum, Wam has reported. The value of non-oil merchandise trade in March 2012 totalled Dhs13.52bn, with imports valuing Dhs10.79bn, or 79.8% of the total. Non-oil exports were seen at Dhs1.83bn and re-exports at Dhs0.9bn, the data showed.
