Bahrain reinstates 92% of workers sacked during unrest

The government of Bahrain has said 92% of all workers fired during last year's unrest have been reinstated, Gulf Daily News has reported. "In cases where reinstatement to original jobs was not possible, the government took it upon itself to reinstate workers to other jobs of equal grades, pay and benefits," said Dana Al Zayani, head of the unit in charge of following up the implementation of the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry recommendations. This includes 1,765 dismissed workers employed by private companies that are partially owned by the government, she said.
