Bahraini skills leads the Technical and Operations Department of TRA

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority General Director Mr. Alan Horne said: "It is of vital importance to any regulator to be supported by talented staff to drive its operations, and to facilitate the development of sustainable competition in the telecommunications market.

We are proud to announce the promotion of Mr. Mohammed Tayeb Mahmood to Director of Technical and Operations in our team. Mohammed’s promotion is a result of his dedication and achievements for TRA over the past three years.”

Mr. Horne went further to say: “The quality of our decisions not only impact the service providers but in the end directly impact the development of consumer choices of telecommunications services, and support the economic growth of Kingdom”.

Mr. Mahmood holds a bachelor degree in Computer Science and a Masters degree in Internet Technology from Aston University (Birmingham- UK) and has 10 years of experience in the IT and Telecommunications fields.

Mohammed joined TRA in 2005 as a Licensing Advisor and was promoted later to Licensing Manager before this latest promotion.

Mr. Mahmood said: “We can never rest when it comes to ensuring proper policies are place to support competition and wider choice of services for consumers, at the same time it is not easy to balance the needs of different stakeholders in the sector. I would like to thank my colleagues at TRA for their support, and I look forward to the challenges ahead.”
