Construction work at Bahrain Financial Harbour Commercial West Car Park is progressing on schedule

In a development that marks significant forward movement on the $3bn landmark BFH, Bahrain Financial Harbour Holding Company (BFHHC) announced that the overall construction work at the Commercial West Car Park is progressing on schedule.

The project, coming up at an estimated cost of $32m, is spread over 5,141sqm and comprises a basement, ground floor and eight additional stories that together provide approximately 1,260 parking spaces for tenants and visitors of the Financial Centre. The general contract for the Commercial West Car Park has been awarded to Terna Contracting, the company that also managed the successful construction of the development’s innovative Commercial East Car Park, which already provides tenants and guests with over 1700 car parking spaces.

Commenting on the development, Dr. Omar Al Mardi, Managing Director, BFHHC said: “I am pleased to announce that construction work on the Commercial West Car Park is progressing on schedule and we are expecting to finish work on this new facility within the year. As the BFH business community grows, the convenience, comfort and safety of our tenants, as well as that of our visitors and guests, remains a top priority, and the additional amenities that the Commercial West Car Park will provide underscores that commitment.”

“We expect the car park to be fully operational by end of 2014, right on schedule. We are confident that our meticulous planning will prevent any congestion and ensure adequate space to satisfy the parking requirements of all our clients and tenants,” Dr. Omar added.

The progress is linked to the fitting out schedule with an aim to avoid any overcrowding of the general area. Thus by end of 2014, the capacity of the new car park will effectively meet the demand for additional parking spaces with new tenants moving in.

The Commercial Wast car park will feature integrated communications, security and MEP systems based on the latest technology, with built-in features for local as well as remote monitoring and control. That means its systems can be monitored from within the car park building itself or from the Financial Centre control room, which marks a first for a car park in the Middle East. The facility will also feature a lively rooftop eatery with a wide variety of international cuisines ranging from Western to Arabian to Asian, catering to all tastes and preferences.

The restaurants will be sure to provide you with an exquisite dining experience offered in a comfortable and ambient environment. With its state of the art design, the restaurants will provide for both indoor and outdoor dining so that you may enjoy the panoramic view of the magnificent Manama skyline as well as a breathtaking view of the Sea, while sitting down to a delicious meal. The lavish rooftop eatery will be equipped with an independent elevator system for ease of access to and from the car parks; with special visitors parking which will be abundantly available for the convenience of customers/patrons.

It will be connected to the West Tower and the Harbour Mall via a covered bridge for easy access in the future.
