The DFM General Index closed 0.24% lower at 2,755.98 points on Tuesday amid negative input from Asian and European markets on the U. S. government shutdown which came into effect on midnight. Emaar lost 0.51% to close at Dhs5.80. Gulf General Investment Co. or GGICO gained the most (up 7.10% at Dhs0.74). Mashreqbank dived 7.37% to Dhs88. Seven shares advanced, 21 declined while 3 remained unchanged.
