The DFM General Index closed 1.35 per cent higher at 3,331.89 points, amid solid trading turnover, on Monday, December 30. Emaar Properties inched up 0.67 per cent to reach AED7.55. Islamic banking company, Al Salam Bank Bahrain closed 14.66 per cent (near limit up) at AED1.33. Arabtec Holding surged by 2.48 per cent to hit AED2.89. Earlier in the day, the biggest construction firm in the UAE denied media speculations that it plans to increase its 24 per cent stake in Dubai-based interior design firm, Depa Limited. “Recent market and media speculations regarding increasing its stake in Depa limited by Arabtec are baseless,” revealed Arabtec in a filing to the DFM.
