Dubai posts rise in non-oil foreign trade

According to statistics by Dubai Customs, the emirate’s non-oil foreign trade crossed the Dhs1trn threshold during the first nine months of 2013 to reach Dhs1.009trn by the end of the third quarter, compared with Dhs918bn for the same period in 2012, Gulf Today has reported. The increase was the result of growth in imports until the end of the nine months, reaching Dhs610bn, compared with Dhs546bn in the same period last year. In addition, exports and re-exports rose to Dhs399bn, compared with Dhs372bn.
