Dubai’s non-oil trade rises 19%

According to data from Dubai's customs, the value of the emirate's foreign trade in the first ten months of 2010 rose 19% to Dhs475bn ($129.4bn), boosted by global economic recovery, Reuters has reported. Direct non-oil exports surged 36% year-on-year to Dhs56.5bn in January-October 2010, the strongest rise in the last five years, while re-exports were up by 23% at Dhs118bn, a record increase. Imports, which account for 63% of Dubai's overall trade activity, grew 15% to Dh300bn in the same period, the data showed.
