Half of UAE internet users experience cybercrime – report

Experts have said that over half of the UAE's 2.55 million internet users have fallen prey to cybercrime from February 2010 to February 2011, Gulf News has reported. Philip Victor, director of policy and development at Impact, a security services firm that works with the UN, has said that around Dhs735 million ($200m) was stolen from the UAE internet users over the 12-month period, and the Gulf country spent Dhs1.44bn on dealing with attacks.
