HP building mobile devices that make wireless payments

HP is developing mobile devices aimed at helping consumers make purchases wirelessly, Reuters has reported, citing two people familiar with HP's plans. The company is considering introducing phones and tablets based on near field communication technology, which lets users pay for purchases and receive coupons and loyalty points by tapping the gadgets on posters and grocery store cash registers, one of the people said. The first NFC devices may be available by year-end, he said.
