ICT integration projects in Jordan compete for EU funding

The European Union (EU) is currently considering plans to provide funding to several projects in Jordan to integrate ICT in different sectors in the kingdom such as energy, water and tourism, Jordan Times has reported. The projects are being developed as part of the Jordan Europe Wide Enhanced research Links in ICT (JEWEL) project, which is being implemented by the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) and funded by the EU. "Currently we have eight major proposals, in different areas of priority to the Kingdom, waiting to be funded by the EU with a total value of JD24m ($33.9m)," said Abdul Rjoub, director of the JEWEL project.
